Overview
The historic Pine Point Mine was the largest and most profitable zinc-lead mine in Canadian history. Located on the south side of the Great Slave Lake 129 kilometers south of Yellowknife and 40 kilometers east of Hay River. The property is composed of 8 open pits and one underground project. The projected operation will start with zone R-190 witch is the underground operation.
Geology
The Pine Point property is located on the eastern flank of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin in the southern Northwest Territories near the southern shore of Great Slave Lake. It occurs in a mid-Devonian carbonate barrier complex called the Presqu'ile barrier.
